DESCRIPTION:\nSam Nuxoll joined the University of Michigan Office of the General Counsel in September 2022 as an Associate General Counsel. He provides advice to the University and the Office of University Development on the legal and tax aspects of lifetime and testamentary charitable giving. Prior to joining the University, Sam worked as an estate planning attorney in the Ann Arbor office of a large Michigan law firm; he also spent a summer as a law clerk in the Office of the General Counsel.\n\nLaw is a second career for Sam. He spent nine years as an active duty US Army Officer, including deployments to both Iraq and Afghanistan, and he is still a Lieutenant Colonel in the Army Reserve.\n\nSam received his law degree from the University of Michigan Law School and his bachelor’s degree from Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.\n
